MRCSP™ Member Registered Concrete Scanning Professional
MRCSP is the standard professional grade within the UKCSS register. It recognises practitioners who are able to undertake and manage concrete scanning activities with a greater degree of responsibility, technical judgement, and independent working capability.
MRCSP is evidence based. Registration is not automatic and is not granted solely through time served or attendance on training courses.
Who MRCSP is for:
- Practitioners independently undertaking concrete scanning and associated NDT activities
- Individuals responsible for survey planning, interpretation, reporting, and client communication
- Those regularly delivering scanning work within live construction, infrastructure, or asset environments
Minimum requirements to apply
Applicants must be able to evidence:
- Substantial practical involvement in concrete scanning or associated NDT work
- Independent delivery experience across a range of project types and site conditions
- Competence in recognised scanning or testing methods relevant to their work
- Understanding of survey limitations, interpretation boundaries, and escalation requirements
- Ability to produce or contribute to technically defensible reports
Evidence is required
Applications must be supported by evidence. This may include anonymised reports, project records, client or employer confirmation, training records, or other relevant supporting documentation.
Applications will be refused or deferred where sufficient evidence is not provided.
Relevant qualifications, training, or manufacturer instruction should be declared where applicable.
What MRCSP represents:
MRCSP confirms recognition as an independent practitioner operating within the scope and limitations of UKCSS standards and guidance. It demonstrates a higher level of practical responsibility, interpretation capability, and professional accountability than entry level registration.
MRCSP does not confer structural engineering authority, design approval status, or unrestricted sign off rights outside the declared scope of competence.
MRCSP is a progression grade intended for practitioners demonstrating consistent professional practice and increasing technical responsibility.
The initial payment fee covers review of submitted evidence and processing of application. Registration is subject to approval.
