SMRCSP is the senior practitioner grade within the UKCSS register. It recognises experienced professionals operating at an advanced level of technical responsibility within concrete scanning and associated non destructive testing activities.
SMRCSP is evidence based. Registration is not automatic and is not granted on seniority claims alone.
Who SMRCSP is for:
- Senior practitioners leading complex scanning or investigation activities
- Individuals responsible for technical oversight, interpretation review, reporting quality, and escalation decisions
- Those providing guidance, supervision, mentoring, or procedural input within scanning operations
Minimum requirements to apply
Applicants must be able to evidence:
- Extensive practical experience in concrete scanning or associated NDT work
- Delivery of technically complex or high consequence investigations
- Advanced understanding of interpretation limitations, data reliability, and escalation requirements
- Experience overseeing reporting standards, survey methodologies, or junior practitioners
- A consistent professional track record within live operational environments
Evidence is required
Applications must be supported by evidence. This may include anonymised reports, project summaries, technical reviews, employer or client confirmation, professional records, or other supporting documentation.
Applications will be refused or deferred where sufficient evidence is not provided.
Relevant qualifications, certifications, professional memberships, or specialist training should be declared where applicable.
What SMRCSP represents:
SMRCSP confirms recognition as a senior level practitioner operating with significant technical responsibility and professional accountability within the scope of UKCSS aligned activities.
SMRCSP does not confer structural engineering authority or approval outside the individual’s declared competence and professional discipline.
Senior registrants may from time to time be invited to contribute toward technical review, guidance development, mentoring, or assessment support activities within UKCSS.
The initial payment fee covers review of submitted evidence and processing of application. Registration is subject to approval.
